Paleo Fish Soup & Paleo Bread Recipe
Rise and shine! We are cooking up a great breakfast here, one that tastes great, yet will help heal your gut at the same time! This is Dan from Primal4Life, and this is “Paleo Fish Soup!” Yeah, I know what most of you are thinking, “Fish soup for breakfast???” Why ask why? Breakfast is just another meal, and if you are having issues with getting over the health-hurdle, or trying to find new “breakfast” meals, you really should consider straying away from the idea of “breakfast food” in the morning. I personally started years ago with steak and eggs, that was a meal that I originally said “Yuk, steak for breakfast???” Well guess what, it was gooooood! Then I started enjoying chicken, turkey, along with leftovers, to form a perfectly healthy Paleo meal. Fish honestly was one of the last steps that I had to take, in order to really feel as if I belonged to the hard-core Paleo community. And today, I’m doing just that with some wild salmon in a nice bone broth that was made from the 500 Paleo Recipes cookbook.
A few months ago, when we picked up Dana Carpender’s awesome book, we decided to get some bones from our local farm…. Grass-fed, high quality, of course! And we made batches of bone-broth to freeze up for future meals. Personally, I have been wanting to do this, since I unfortunately acquired Leaky Gut from antibiotics (Avelox). This absolutely destroyed me, I was down and out… But with strict Paleo, and meals just like this one, I was able to recover with a vengeance. Bone-broths just like this one help to heal the gut lining, and is crucial for recover in a situation like mine. Plus it is great for joints and recovery! I also avoided all grains, including cereal and bread, for over a solid year. Then Julian Bakery came into my life…. Well sorta, I found them at a local health-food store, and I noticed Paleo Bread. Obviously it caught my attention, with a cool name like that, and seeing that it was beyond gluten-free…. I knew that gluten-free wasn’t necessarily good for you, cause just about anything can be considered gluten free…. But since Paleo Bread is made with coconut and almond, wow!!!!!!!!! This is the stuff!!! And, it’s low in carbs, calories, and doesn’t have any GMO ingredients, or soy and dairy for that matter. Unreal…. Ever since, I was hooked. I noticed all of the other Paleo items that they offered, and love how it’s a one stop shop where I can made one convenient purchase, and be done.
- · 2 cups bone-broth – from 500 Paleo Recipes
- · 6 oz wild salmon
- · 2 cloves garlic – slivered
- · ½ ounce of minced ginger
- · 2 leaves of Napa cabbage – chopped
- · 5 grape tomatoes – sliced
- · ½ cup mushrooms
- · 2 scallions – chopped
- · ½ tsp turmeric
- · 1 tsp Sunfood Super Foods Fine Himalayan Crystal Salt
- · Black pepper to taste
- · 1 tsp Coconut Secret – Coconut Aminos
- · 1 slice Almond Paleo Bread
1) Defrost bone-broth in pan
2) Add Coconut Aminos to wild salmon
3) Add Himalayan Salt and chopped vegetables when bone-broth is melted down
4) Add turmeric and stir well
5) After about 10 minutes, when veggies are soft, add wild salmon
6) Keep a rolling boil going, and after a few minutes, flip salmon and continue to cook.
7) Toast Paleo Bread
8) Add Himalayan Salt and black pepper to taste
Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 25 min

What a great way to start my day, I got a nice, warm, and filling meal that will help my immune system and keep me going probably until dinner time. With the broad range of nutrients from all of the veggies, the bone-broth, the wild salmon, and even the Paleo Bread, I’m happy to say that I enjoyed one of the healthiest meals around. Factor in the Himalayan Salt with 84 trace minerals that our bodies need, and Coconut Aminos bringing you amino acids, vitamin C and a bunch of B vitamins….. Compare this to just about any “breakfast” meal, and you can see that this is truly Paleo. And I really enjoyed dipping my almond Paleo Bread into that tasty broth…. I have always been a dipper, from the days of Oreos or donuts in my milk, to this…. What a difference!! And yeah, what a difference, in how I feel, look and perform. Thank you Julian Bakery!
