Admittingly, the main reason I like to eat Jambalaya every now and then is because of the corn bread which has to be dripping with honey and lightly buttered. Also because of the amazingly moist rice with it’s delicious and robust flavor.

And then there’s the paleo version…

I’m going to be positive and upbeat about it but in all honesty it is a very non-paleo meal that I used to love. So onto how amazing it can be paleo… It’s really good paleo with the intense spice from the sausages to the heartiness of the meal with all the protein.

For me, I love to eat this dish with bread, it’s just a must do, have to carb it. So thank goodness there’s Paleo Bread™ out there! I love this meal with Julian Bakeries Coconut Paleo bread because the mix of the slightly sweet bread and the Andouille sausage is amazing! The bread helps to cool down your mouth and soaks up leftover juices from the dish.

Make sure to use plenty of coconut milk with this dish, don’t scimp! Even if you have to add another type of milk, you’ll be happy the dish is very moist with all the meat in the dish and it helps to balance the flavors.

Serves 4

Ingredients

1 lb. organic free-range chicken breasts, cut into 1” cubes

1 package or 4-5 Andouille sausage, sliced thin

½ lb. shrimp, shelled (I did not include shrimp in my meal due to a fish allergy in the family)

1 Tbs. coconut oil

½ white onion, diced

½ can coconut milk

2 Tbs. coconut manna

2 Tbs. chipotle salsa (paleo friendly or make your own)

Julian Bakery Almond Paleo Bread™, toasted

Directions

Heat coconut oil on medium heat and cook onions for about 5 minutes until slightly soft

Meanwhile, combine the coconut manna, coconut milk and chipotle salsa in a bowl and mix well

Add the chicken to the pan with the onions and cook on one side for about 3 minutes. Turn the chicken over and cook for about 1 minute then add the sausage and shrimp to the pan and the chipotle mixture and bring it almost to boil then reduce the heat to medium and cook until chicken is done and the sausage is hot.

Serve with Julian Bakeries Almond Baleo Bread™and ENJOY!

This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you ”Cinnamon Spiced Chicken.” Cinnamon is a wonder spice; it has a host of good properties, ranging from being able to stabilize blood-sugar levels, to being anti-aging and anti-inflammatory…. I have gotten used to adding it to lots of my meals, so tonight I decided to combine cinnamon with Paleo Powder, which I predicted would go great together. And boy was I right about that!! When I first found Paleo Powder listed on Julian Bakery’s site, in their Paleo section to be more specific, I ordered it up and couldn’t wait to shake it on my foods…. I was in love at first bite, it truly is a great blend of spices (Chili Powder, pepper blend, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin), plus it doesn’t hurt that it’s gluten free and does not have any MSG… But then after I was done, I wanted more, in different varieties… Tonight solves one of the variations; a sweet and spicy version came to life.

Ingredients:

• Organic Free Range Chicken thighs

• 3 tsp Paleo Powder

• A few dashes of cinnamon

• Coconut Paleo Bread

• 1 tsp Paleo Butter

• Sea salt and black pepper to taste

Directions:

1) Combine Paleo Powder and cinnamon in a bowl and mix well

2) Coat chicken with spice blend

3) Cook chicken to your liking

4) Toast (or grill) Paleo Bread

5) Serve, and add Paleo Butter to Paleo Bread

6) Add Sea Salt and black pepper to taste

Prep Time:

• 2 minutes

Cook Time:

• 12 minutes

I told you it was good, right??? I really enjoyed this one, the spice blend of cinnamon and Paleo Powder went so well together, and allowed my chicken to have that nice BBQ crunch… Not to mention such a powerful flavor! And my coconut Paleo Bread was grilled to perfection, and topped with that heavenly Paleo Butter, mmm mmm mmmmmm!!!! Paleo Butter is filled with vitamins A, D, and K2, and comes from grass-fed cows, plus it tastes amazing! If you haven’t tried it, instead of regular butter, that is a must! So make sure you go to www.JulianBakery/Paleo and check out all of these fine Paleo items, and many more to satisfy anyone’s needs! I am thrilled to continuously see more and more Paleo products popping up, but only the best of the best make the cut. They have items from the Ab Wheel, to Supplements, not to forget about the delicious and nutritious Paleo Chocolate!

I think I have a horrible condition where I eat something so insanely often that I get sick of it for months and sometimes years; first it was eggs. Every morning for years as a teenager I ate scrambled eggs and then one morning I just quit! No eggs for years, couldn’t even stand a bite! So what do I do for breakfast then? I switch to oatmeal and wore myself out on that after a couple years. Then I moved on to fruit for breakfast but inevitably ended up back with oatmeal.

When I started eating paleo, I ate eggs like I had never seen them before; I put them in everything as well too. And wouldn’t you know it? Within 4 months I was sick of them and I had become really creative making them in all sorts of ways even. So I just got back together with eggs and oh how I missed them.

That’s where this idea came along! Instead of putting ham in my eggs I thought why don’t I put the eggs in the ham? (A proud little light bulb glowing above my head) Oh man it’s so good!

You can put any types of veggies and herbs in the egg scramble; I put diced red bell pepper, spinach and avocado in mine and toped it with a piece of bell pepper for a fresh and crunchy bite. Eat them in a rollup or put them on a slice of bread, either way it makes for a creative start to your day!

Serves 2

Ingredients

1 tsp. organic nuco liquid coconut oil

4 eggs

¼ c. diced bell pepper and 4 slices of bell pepper

½ c. fresh spinach

4 slices of ham

avocado, sliced

Julian Bakery Coconut Paleo bread, toasted

Directions

Beat eggs in a small bowl

Heat coconut oil on medium heat in a large pan and add the eggs and sprinkle in the veggies

Meanwhile, heat the sliced ham in a pan over medium heat until warm

Once eggs are cooked, divide into the slices of ham and top with avocado and roll up. Top with a slice of red pepper (or other veggie) and place on top of Julian Bakery Paleo bread and ENJOY!

I love talking to people at checkout stands especially at the grocery store, well that is when they seem friendly. You know those people whom you walk up to and they are immediately warm and friendly, not the ones that seem that they are about to wilt away into the linoleum and can barely muster up a hello. I know, we all have our social and unsocial moments but I like to chat it up whenever possible out in the world; it makes me feel somehow that I am connected to my community. That’s why I try to go to the same store locations every time I grocery shop to try to build some rapport with the store associates. So far, I think I’ve got in good with one store and I’m working on the other store I frequent.

To walk in to the line and have the checkout people recognize me and my baby feels good and it feels like it restores some aspect of humanity and tranquility in a world that can often be heartless and rushed.

So I’m checking out with my many coconut products as I live on them and the cashier asked me what I do with each one. I told her about this and that and she in turn started sharing with me her uses for each. Most of her uses were non paleo so I just smiled, nodded and dreamed of those non paleo days but she had a great idea using coconut cream and fruit salsa for a marinade. My ears perked up at that idea and I knew I could make something paleo out of that.

I left the store with a hop in my step and a grin on my face just from a simple 5-minute conversation with the check stand lady and I would like to think that we set a tone in the store at the moment for conversation, community and compassion. Try it! Take a couple extra moments to talk to those around you in your everyday tasks and soak in what they have to say and just…connect!

2 lbs. organic cage free chicken breasts, cut into 1” chunks

1 can coconut cream

1 can coconut milk (I like to use light to offset the cream)

1 papaya, diced

1 small mango, diced

½ white onion, diced

2 Tbs. cilantro, chopped

2 Tbs. lemon juice

1 avocado, sliced

basil, for garnish

Julian Bakery Coconut Paleo bread, toasted

Directions

Combine the papaya, mango, onion, lemon juice and cilantro in a bowl and let sit for at least a half hour (if possible) so that the flavors combine, set aside

In a large bowl, add 1 can of coconut cream, 1 can of coconut milk and the fruit salsa and stir to combine. Add the chicken and let the mixture marinate for at least 20 minutes or up to one day (the longer the better)

Cook the chicken pieces for about 3 minutes on each side until cooked throughout

Place the chicken on top of the bread, add the avocado slices and basil to the sandwich and ENJOY!

This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you a ”Spinach Bacon and Cheddar Omelet.” Looking for a tasty yet healthy breakfast? Miss that slice of bread with it? Well here you have exactly just that…. For a Paleo follower, we have a healthy omelet, made with local eggs and spinach… We have some tasty bacon, and a slice of the best bread around – Paleo Bread! Made without grains, gluten, dairy, GMO’s, soy, and tastes great… Plus, it’s low in carbs, calories, and has protein and fiber to keep you full and energized! Julian Bakery makes sure you that are getting bread that not only tastes delicious, either in coconut or almond, but doesn’t spike your blood sugar levels, keeping inflammation down, which is exactly what we are trying to avoid by going Paleo.

So Rachel made this wonderful breakfast with a couple eggs, some sautéed spinach, and bacon, cooked in Paleo Butter, which is one of the healthiest butters around. Or should I say ghee? Either way, it’s packed with CLA, vitamins A, D, and K2, and tastes great not only on, but in meals! We cook with it all the time, and I feel pretty cool that we are getting more nutrients than we would with regular butter. And it comes from cows that were fed what they enjoy, and should be, eating…. Grass!

Ingredients:

• 2 local eggs

• 1 tsp Paleo Butter

• hand full of spinach

• 1 slices coconut Paleo Bread

• Organic Grass-Fed Cheddar cheese (Grass-Fed Cows Year Round)

• 2 slices nitrate free organic bacon

• Sea salt and black pepper to taste

Directions:

1) Melt Paleo Butter in frying pan

2) Sauté spinach, then set aside

3) Cook bacon, or reheat if you have it previously made

4) Melt more Paleo Butter in frying pan

5) Cook eggs with spinach as you would make an omelet

6) Add bacon and cheddar when omelet is almost done

7) Add Sea Salt and black pepper to taste

Prep Time:

• 15 minutes

Cook Time:

• 10 minutes

Serves:

• 1

Like I said, it was mmm mmm good!!!!!!! With great flavors from the bacon and some cheddar cheese, along with healthy fats in the eggs and in the coconut Paleo Bread and Paleo Butter, and more vitamins in the spinach, this was a wonderful way to start the day. Plus another dab of Paleo Butter on the Paleo Bread to bring out the flavor, it makes me crave lunch already!!!

Before you run out and start calling up stores to see where you can get these fine Paleo products, all you have to do is either call Julian Bakery or check out www.JulianBakery.com/Paleo and order them up. And there’s a two other methods you can try as well. If you are in California, you can stop by the Oceanside or La Jolla locations, or look for their Store Locator feature on their website to find a store near you. Four great ways to get your Julian Bakery items! I hope you enjoyed this breakfast, we sure did!!! And if you decide to replicate it, let me know how you liked it! Thanks for stopping by!!

This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you ”Chicken Veggies and the New Almond Paleo Bread.” Just when you thought you had it made, Julian Bakery takes things to the next level. I was really enjoying my slice of almond Paleo Bread, and when I heard the newest batches have been including a little coconut flour, I was concerned…. Not just for me, but for you… Yes, I care. But I read the label, and noticed less calories which is great for those of you watching your caloric intake. More healthy fats are a huge bonus as well, as coconut has been shown to be extremely beneficial. Well what about those of you that aren’t a fan of the taste of coconut? Well, at first I wondered how that would pan out, but then I realized that even the coconut Paleo Bread does not have a strong taste of coconut…. So I had to give it a whirl before I kept coming to conclusions. I fired up my toaster oven, and in went the latest and greatest almond Paleo Bread. A few minutes later, I took my first bite, and I was truly amazed…. Like I previously mentioned, Julian Bakery definitely bumped this awesome loaf to the next level…. It’s softer, doesn’t taste like coconut at all, has a nice texture, and I seem to enjoy it a little more overall! And with less calories? How is that possible!?!?!?!

Ingredients:

• Olive oil

• 6 cloves garlic – minced

• 1.5 lbs chicken

• ¼ cup Sherry wine

• Juice of 1 lemon

• 1 onion – chopped

• 1 cup mushrooms

• 2 cups string beans

• 1 bunch brocollini

• Sea salt & pepper to taste

• Almond Paleo Bread

• 2 tsp Paleo Butter

• Paleo Powder to sprinkle

Directions:

1) Heat large pan with olive oil, and sauté mushrooms and onions until onions are translucent.

2) Add four cloves minced garlic, lemon juice and sherry wine and chicken.

3) Cook until chicken is done, salt and pepper to taste.

4) In two other separate pans, steam string beans with water and brocollini with some olive oil, and one clove minced garlic in each, cook until done.

5) Add salt & pepper to taste, and a dab of Paleo Butter to the string beans.

6) For the toast, toast Paleo Bread to your liking, and top with Paleo Butter when complete.

7) I added a sprinkle of Paleo Powder to my chicken when it was complete.

Prep Time:

• 5 minutes

Cook Time:

• 30 minutes

Serves:

• 2-4

Another great dinner that was made that much better because of the even better almond Paleo Bread! Not to discard the Paleo Butter and Paleo Powder, as they both played an important role in this meal. We really enjoyed the new almond Paleo Bread, it had a little extra flavor, a nicer overall texture, and I am looking forward to recreating some of my favorite meals and sandwiches all over to see how they taste! Make sure you check out www.JulianBakery.com/Paleo and load up your cart with some great products like these to keep you and your family healthy and sticking to the Paleo lifestyle! When you try the new almond Paleo Bread, please let me know your thoughts on it. I think you will be pleasantly surprised, just like I was! And while you are scoping out that incredible and oh so convenient “Paleo section” at Julian Bakery, make sure you grab some other fine products to help you make your Primal meals happen! Thanks for checking us out, and I hope you check back soon for more delicious and super healthy meals via Primal4Life and Julian Bakery!

Pizza, oh my dear beloved pizza! I have loved you for as long as I can remember but we shouldn’t be together! I cannot handle all of your intense ingredients and complexity, especially on my path to paleo. With your glutiness, cheesiness and greasiness there’s so many reasons why you are bad for me but it’s so incredibly hard to say no to you. First off, I’m lactose intolerant so no cheese for me, then I’m paleo so no dough here and lastly I’m trying to lose those extra pregnancy pounds so no thank you grease!

So what do I do when I miss something so much on my paleo diet? Recreation station! I took the general idea of a pizza and made it paleo but using ground meat as my base (or dough rather) and used some flavorful and decadent toppings such as basil, pepperoni and savory marinara sauce. In order to not just be left with a meatloaf like dish, I put the cooked “pizza” on top of toasted Julian Bakery Almond Paleo bread which gives the pizza that crunch you need and crave on the bottom.

I’ve tried making this pizza dish several times and through my pizza journey I have come up with the perfect paleo pizza and now know what not to do. First off, when you make the ground meat and bake it, it turns out to be much much smaller than what you start with. If you are feeding a family of four, then I would recommend using about 2 pounds of ground meat. For just 2 people, I use about 1 pound and load it up with toppings and we can finish the entire pizza in one meal and there’s no leftovers so if you want leftovers, use 2 pounds. The other tip I have is that when you bake the ground meat alone in a baking dish first, if you don’t transfer it onto a baking sheet, you’re left with too much meat juice in the pan and the pizza becomes a bit soggy so definitely transfer it and be sure to use 2 spatulas to do so otherwise the pizza may fall apart. And my last tip is the more you put on top, the better! On the pizza shown in the blog, I used onions, spinach, mushrooms, pepperoni, basil and marinara but there are so many options! I should have added bacon…

Serves 2

Ingredients

1 lb. ground meat

1 Tbs. coconut oil

¾ c. marinara, paleo friendly

1 c. spinach

½ medium onion, sliced

1 c. sliced mushrooms

¼ lb. pepperoni

¼ c. basil

Julian Bakery Almond Paleo bread, toasted

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Spread the ground meat into a baking dish and push down until evenly distributed and cook for about 8 minutes and set aside

Heat the oil in a pan over medium high heat and add the onions and mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes. Add the spinach and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the spinach has shrunken down

Transfer the cooked ground meat carefully to a foil lined baking sheet

Spread the marinara sauce on top of the ground meat, add the onions, mushrooms and spinach evenly over the meat. Then add the pepperoni and basil on top

Cook for about 10-15 minutes on 350 degrees. Cut into squares and place on top of Julian Bakery Almond Paleo bread and ENJOY!

Soufflé! Ok are you still reading? I didn’t scare you away? Well I scared myself a bit making this because making soufflés can be quite hard but not this one! You can soufflé just about anything and it’s so fun to make all different types of soufflés because they taste so darn good, all puffed up and decadent.

Soufflés are essentially lightly baked cake made with eggs and other ingredients and are typically made into deserts. Soufflé means “to blow up” or more loosely “to puff up” which is what happens to the combination of custard and egg whites. The base provides the flavor and the “lift” comes from the egg whites. The most common foods used for the base are cheese, jam, fruit and chocolate.

So when I decided to make a soufflé, my ingredients are quite bizarre for this type of dish but oh so tasty! It was a day where I found myself needing to go to the store but staring at the fridge knowing that I could probably make something amazing out of cauliflower, cilantro and sausage. So soufflé it was!

It’s a really easy dish to make and it turned out surprisingly rich and delicious! You can soufflé just about anything really! Just decide on a base that will allow it to be light in consistency and add some interest to it. Once the soufflé has cooked throughout, be sure to give it some time on broil to get a slightly browned top.

Serves 4

Ingredients

1 head of cauliflower, chopped into 1/8 pieces

2 egg whites

1 tsp. coconut oil

4 organic free range sausages, diced

Bunch of cilantro, chopped

Julian Bakery Coconut Paleo bread, toasted

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Bring cauliflower and ½-1 cup of water to boil in a small pot and cook until cauliflower is soft

Heat coconut oil over medium high heat and cook sausage until hot

Combine the cauliflower and water, egg whites and cilantro in a blender and blend until smooth

Pour the mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle the sausage on top

Cook the soufflé for 20 minutes, then turn up the oven to broil and broil for about 10 minutes until lightly browned

Cut into squares and place on top of Julian Bakery Coconut Paleo bread and ENJOY!

This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you ”Paleo Bread with Chicken & Vegetables.” Since yesterday’s slow cooked meal turned out so well, we decided to give our crock-pot another whirl. Tonight’s dinner started off with some Paleo Powder sprinkled chicken, along with some Paleo Butter in the crock-pot. Both items have just the right amount of flavor for this dish, nothing over powering… And both items came from Julian Bakery, in that convenient “Paleo” section that I tell everyone about! They have a boatload of items that we constantly are looking for to make our Paleo lives so much easier…. Next up, we add all of our veggies and chicken, herbs, broth, and white cooking wine all into the crock-pot… Sending them on a six hour tour to slow cook-ville. What I’m also looking forward to is that great slice of coconut Paleo Bread, coated with Paleo Butter to bring out a little moisture and flavor.

Ingredients:

• 1.5 lbs chicken

• 3 tbsp Paleo Butter

• ½ tsp Paleo Powder

• ½ onion, chopped

• 1 cup mushrooms, halved

• 16 oz artichoke hearts

• ½ tsp thyme

• ½ cup white cooking wine

• ½ cup chicken broth

• 5 small zucchini, sliced

• 1 slice Paleo Bread™

• Salt & pepper to taste

Directions:

1) Melt 1 tbsp Paleo Butter in crock-pot, then add chicken.

2) Sprinkle Paleo Powder over chicken.

3) Add remaining 2 tbsp Paleo Butter

4) Top chicken with vegetables

5) Mix wine, chicken broth and thyme and pour over chicken and vegetables

6) Cook on low for 4-6 hours.

7) Salt and pepper to taste

8) Toast Paleo Bread and top with Paleo Butter

9) Finally, serve….

Prep Time:

• 10 minutes

Cook Time:

• 6 hours

Serves:

• 4-6

Chalk up another win for the slow cooker, using Julian Bakery products, like Paleo Butter and Paleo Powder! And don’t exclude our bread winner, coconut Paleo Bread!!! All of these items really come in handy when trying to throw these Primal meals together, getting back to our roots with real, organic ingredients, made as natural as possible. The Paleo Butter not only tastes and smells great, but is from grass-fed cows and contains many hard to get nutrients. http://www.julianbakery.com/paleo-product/paleo-powder/ is gluten and MSG free, and has chili Powder, a pepper blend, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin…. And puts down that perfect spice blend that you are looking for, without burning your mouth! And with the Paleo Buttered Paleo Bread, my day is complete… I added a little pepper to it, which was a nice touch, as I’m always looking to change things up.

So make sure you check out www.JulianBakery.com/Paleo for the latest and greatest ingredients, cookbooks, bars, and even workout equipment! Combining a Paleo diet with lifestyle ain’t easy, but thanks to Julian Bakery its isn’t all that hard!

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to check out this recipe, using all natural products like Julian Bakery’s Paleo Bread. I hope you enjoyed it and please come again!

This is Dan from Primal4Life bringing you a ”Turkey Volcano with Paleo Buttered Toast.” My mind was scrambling for something new to come up with this morning, and as I was going through some ideas, my mind erupted with a great concept; a Turkey Volcano! I envisioned a yolk running down the side of the “volcano”, with some spices and good fats to enhance the experience. Well, it all came together, using ground turkey (organic antibiotic free of course!), one egg, Paleo Powder, chipotle flakes, garlic, chopped parsley, almond flour, an avocado, coconut Paleo Bread™, and a new item which I am happy to introduce to you Paleo-Fanatics….. Paleo Butter!!! What’s so special about this so called Paleo Butter? I mean we already have grass-fed butter, right? But wait, there’s more…. Paleo Butteris made from 100% grass-fed cow’s cream; it is rich in flavor and in taste, and smells incredible!! The cream is cultured in the traditional French method, and then clarified to remove any remaining lactose and dairy solids. So anyone looking for a lactose free item, here you have it! Paleo Butter is rich in CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), Vitamin A, Vitamin K2, and also Vitamin D. And you thought Vitamin D was only available from supplements or the sun… Pfft!!! A few other cool facts are that you do not have to keep this in the fridge, it comes vacuum sealed, should last up to six months at room temperature, it’s made by Paleo Fuel & Fire, and it has a really cool logo of cave-art that I am really diggin’! So today, I decided to put the Paleo Butter to the test; in my frying pan and on my Paleo Bread™. Let’s see how it faired, shall we?
